Hot Yoga

Having trained in the beautiful Island Of  Koi Samui, I deliver the Absolute Hot Yoga Series.  Using heat during yoga practice is highly beneficial as it allows the body to;

  • work deeper in to the muscles, creating  deeper stretches and builds strength whilst in asana (posture)
  • calm the mind and aid stress relieve by connecting the breath (prana) with the movement
  • detoxify the body
  • create balance and harmony for the body and the mind

“The heat also allows you to go a little more deeply and safely into the postures,”says accredited teacher Lorna Elaine, “so you know you’re really warming up the muscles and you can really approach the postures from a safe place.”

Working in a heated room also elevates the heart rate, which makes the body work a little harder. “It’s really for people who want a more intense yoga session, this is not a ‘workout’ and for those who want to develop strength, flexibility and tone along with a cardiovascular workout.

She also says working in heat helps the body relax, improves breathing (which helps conditions like asthma) and focuses the mind, which develops better mental concentration.
