This introductory workshop will start with a warm up then we will learn some fundamental movements of Capoeira, a basic defense and attack sequence, a simple rhythm on the tambourine and a song! Corrine Davey – Jersey Capoeira Association

• You will need some space to move around as Capoeira uses all parts of the body.
• General good level of fitness.
• Barefoot is recommended and a hard surface.

Who is Corrine?

I have been practicing Capoeira for 20 years and have participated in many international events and workshops. I started learning Capoeira in Brazil in 1998 and went on to train in the UK, Spain and Australia where I finally acquired my “Monitors” belt in 2015. I teach adults and children at the Jersey Opera House on Tuesday evenings.

I also practice Ashtanga yoga and Brazilian dance.
